Invisalign

Prentice Orthodontics is a Platinum Invisalign® Provider

Does the idea of wearing braces sound uncomfortable or embarrassing? Consider using Invisalign. These clear aligners can quickly fix issues by slipping over teeth.

They can be removed and cleaned at any time. The best part? They are very hard to notice. Invisalign® Teen is a great solution for teenagers ready to perfect their smile without hurting their confidence.

What is Invisalign®?

With Prentice Orthodontics, you can expect professional, do-able treatment options to fit any lifestyle, which is why we’re proud to offer Invisalign®. The Invisalign® System is a series of overlay templates called aligners that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth.

This system is available to children and adult patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign® System.

Why Choose Invisalign®?

Straighten Teeth Without Braces, Using Aligners

There are typically fewer emergency visits as well as there is no risk of broken brackets or pokey wires. Invisalign visits are usually every 12 weeks instead of every 4 to 6 weeks.

Advantages

  • Invisalign® aligners are hard to notice.
  • Invisalign® aligners are removable for eating and brushing.
  • Fewer appointments.
  • No emergency visits for broken brackets or wires that are poking out uncomfortably.
  • Invisalign® aligners won’t interrupt your normal brushing and flossing routine.

Responsibilities

  • Remove aligners before eating and drinking anything but water.
  • Brush and floss after each meal or snack. Any food or sugary drinks left on your teeth will be held there by the aligner and can lead to tooth decay.
  • You must wear your aligners for 22 hours per day.
  • If you don’t keep track of your Invisalign® aligners, they can be misplaced or lost.

Typical Invisalign® Process

  • Wear each set of aligners for about one week.
  • Remove only to eat, drink, brush and floss.
  • Your teeth will move gradually each week.
  • Visit orthodontist every 6-12 weeks.

Invisalign®: How Long?

Of course, the amount of time needed for Invisalign® treatment varies from patient to patient. We value each of your patients and understand they have individual needs. Dr. Prentice will work with you or your child to make a care schedule based on your best treatment plan that fits into your life. Before treatment, expect a thorough examination for facial balance, bite problems, and TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders.

We use the iTero Element Intraoral Scanner to show you the expected outcome of your Invisalign treatment. And even better, the scanner’s highly accurate images mean there are no more goopy trays and uncomfortable molds to withstand. Getting imagery of your mouth is precise, easy, and comfortable.

Invisalign® Cost

Worried that Invisalign® might cost too much? We have great financing options for Invisalign®, and work with you to fit your budget. Schedule a consultation to learn more about our pricing.

Invisalign® Post-Treatment Care

As with braces, Invisalign® requires care after treatment is over. During this stage, Dr. Prentice will ensure your retainer fits well, while establishing a self-care routine to ensure your teeth do not shift.
