13 Years of Smiles
Prentice Orthodontics was founded in 2006 by Dr. Ricarda Prentice as a state-of-the-art, fully computerized practice that offers the most technologically-advanced treatment procedures available. Our team uses all forms of digital imaging, including photographs, X-rays, and models to develop a treatment plan that is special to each patient. With our digital simulation, you can see your progress by comparing your “before” teeth to you “after” smile to help keep you motivated and your treatment on track.
After 13 years in business, we’re ecstatic to say that our thorough, detailed treatment plans have resulted in hundreds of grinning patients. Meet Dr. Prentice
Dr. Ricarda Prentice believes a great smile builds confidence. She is passionate about helping you achieve your ideal self through a beautiful, healthy smile. She started her firm to better people’s oral health but to also fix their overall wellbeing and state of mind.
With her holistic approach, Dr. Prentice strives to improve both function and aesthetic to bring back a person’s confidence and happiness through attentive orthodontic care. Dr. Prentice knows first-hand that issues like crossbite, underbite, open bite, deep bite, crowding, spacing, protrusion and disproportionate jaw growth can hurt self-esteem and cause harmful, underlying health issues like gastrointestinal problems, headaches, and ear pain.
Before becoming one of Broomfield’s best orthodontists, Dr. Prentice practiced general dentistry for three years, then enrolled in the University of Alberta to complete her orthodontic residency. She later earned her Doctorate from Creighton University.
Despite already knowing so much about oral health care, Dr. Prentice continues to study advanced orthodontics through some of North America’s most respected clinical training programs.
All of this means Dr. Prentice’s is focused on providing excellent clinical care. With her, you’re more than a number. You’re a valued patient and a friend. Patients enjoy and that she spends one-on-one time getting to know them and their needs. See some of their testimonials below.
Dr. Prentice is a familiar face in the community. Her philanthropic endeavors are near to her heart, as she sponsors and donates to fundraisers for many of the schools in the Broomfield/Westminster/Thornton area. Currently, Dr. Prentice is an active member of the following organizations:
- Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Dental Honorary)
- American Dental Association
- Colorado Dental Association
- Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists
When Dr. Prentice is not with her patients, she spends time with her wonderful husband, Dan, and their energetic son, Ryder. She loves our wonderful Colorado lifestyle and enjoys skiing, hiking, biking, traveling, reading, and cooking.

This means we keep up with technological trends and how they can make your life easier.
About Orthodontics Treatment
Orthodontic treatment works by applying gentle force to teeth using special “appliances” like braces, aligners and retainers. The American Association of Orthodontists notes that teeth can be repositioned over time due to the breakdown and rebuilding of bone tissue.
